Loy WATSON

McMinnville resident and Clay County, TN native Loy Watson, age 90, was born February 28, 1918 and died February 26, 2008 at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN. A retired employee of Magnatek Electric, a United States Marine Veteran of WWII and a member of the Bybee Branch Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Albert and Ernest Fletcher Watson. He was married sixty-seven years to Ona Pauline Harvey Watson who preceded him in death August 24, 2007. He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Joe Gourley of Smyrna, TN and Kathy Stubblefield of Mt. Juliet, TN; four grandsons, Jeremy Gourley and his wife, Amy, Michele Gourley, Brandon Stubblefield and Justin Stubblefield and two great-grandchildren, Abby-Carolyn Gourley and Jake Watson Gourley. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 in High's Chapel with the family officiating. Burial followed in the Bascom Cemetery.
