Minnie Bethlee WHITEAKER

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Minnie Bethlee Whiteaker, age 88, was born March 7, 1920 and died December 21, 2008 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A homemaker and a member of the Bybee Branch Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Delia Moffitt. She was married to Jewell Whiteaker who preceded her in death April 19, 1976. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Randel Whiteaker and Dean Whiteaker. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, C. L. and Jo Whiteaker and Gary and Kay Whiteaker both of McMinnville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jerelene and Jerry Prince of LaVergne, TN, Carolyn Doig of Cartersville, GA and Kathy and Don Wylie of Calhoun, GA; two sisters, Velma Hutchins of Smithville, TN and Wavie Hoover of McMinnville; eighteen grandchildren, thirty eight great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 with Teddy Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery.
