Herbert Edward WOMACK

Morrison, TN resident and Warren County native Herbert Edward Womack, age 69, was born December 7, 1938 and died January 8, 2008 at his residence following a brief illness. A retired truck driver with Mid-Tenn Turf and a member of the Bascom Methodist Church, he was the son of the late John Hampton Womack and Bessie Blankenship Womack Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James J. Womack; sisters, Cornelia Hammonds and Laura E. Womack; sons, Tim O'Neal and Jeffery Craig Womack and grandson, Jeremy Freeman. He was married December 5, 1981 to Carolyn Comer Womack of the Vervilla Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children and their spouses, Cheryl Womack Freeman of McMinnville, James Edward and Missy Womack of Villa Rica, GA, John Michael and Sherial Womack of Temple, GA, Debra Rogers of Thompson Station, TN and Richard Rogers and Tim Edward Womack both of the Vervilla Community. grandchildren, Chloe Leann Freeman of Rock Island, TN, James Edward Womack, Jr., Jessica Darlene and Adrianna Leann Womack both of Villa Rica, GA, Thomas Daniel Womack of Oklahoma and Jeffery Womack, Jr. and Tiffany Johnson both of McMinnville; special children and grandchildren, Herbert Johnson, Lisa Rogers and Joshua and Andrew Grisby all of Thompson Station, TN and David Kelli and Brooke and Dylan Emmons all of Garland, TX; brother, J.C. Womack of McMinnville; three sisters, Alma Adams and Beatrice Gosnell of McMinnville and Paulette Mingle of Gazaway, TN; two step-brothers, Billy and Kenneth Mason both of McMinnville and two step-sisters, Carolyn Turner of Smithville, TN and Drucilla Crouch of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2008 in High's Chapel with Stacy Cowan and Jason Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Bascom Cemetery.
