Malcolm Lee YORK

Rock Island, TN resident and Overton County, TN native Malcolm Lee York, age 84, was born March 1, 1924 and died December 10, 2008 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of Powermatic, a United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Virgil and Corey Beard York. He was married April 17, 1967 to Katherine Harper York who preceded him in death in 2003. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry Frisby; sister, Mary Magaline Varner; three grandsons, Lenny Frisby, Joseph York and William David Pease, Jr. He is survived by three sons, David Pease of Mississippi, Mike York of the Rocky River Community and Terry York of Palmer, TN; four daughters, Pamela York and Wendy York both of Youngstown, OH, Charlene Puskas of Painesville, OH and Renee Jennings of McMinnville; sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two expected great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 in High's Chapel with George Roberts and Jim King officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
