Hubert Oliver BARKS

Morrison, TN resident and Dekalb County, TN native Hubert Oliver Barks, age 79, was born February 7, 1930 and died June 7, 2009 at Generations of Spencer in Spencer, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Carrier Corporation and United States Army veteran, he was the son of the late Matthew M. and Cora Belle Clemons Barks. He was married to Laura Frances McCormick who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Allen Barks. He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Rankhorn of Morrison, TN; son, Gary Lynn Barks of Morrison, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Melissa Barks of McMinnville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Merle and Betty Barks of Rock Island, TN and Ray and Linda Barks of McMinnville; sister, Sally Thomas and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN with George Roberts officiating.
