Billy Charles BARNES

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Billy Charles Barnes, age 70, was born July 19, 1939 and died November 19, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN following a sudden illness. A nurseryman and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Livey and Annie Jones Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, L.V. and Raymond Barnes. He was married February 15, 1963 to Rachel McHone Barnes of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey and Stacy Christian of Chattanooga, TN and Billy and Donna Barnes and Mason Barnes both of McMinnville; daughter, Nora McBride of McMinnville; grandchildren, Bryan Christian and wife, Michelle and April Barnes both of McMinnville and Hannah Christian of Chattanooga, TN; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Barnes, Kay Barnes and Edith Barnes all of McMinnville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Melton Barnes and David and Susie Barnes both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 in High's Chapel with Rev. Carl Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Billy C. Barnes Cemetery.
