Harvey Earl BESS

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Harvey Earl Bess, age 69, was born August 20, 1939 and died February 26, 2009 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired truck driver and member of the Christian Fellowship Church, he was the son of the late Harvey Henry and Ida Belle Myers Bess. He was married to Wilda Airbella Scott Bess who preceded him in death March 20, 2008. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Danny Polson and Diane and Ruble Price both of McMinnville and Sherry and Calvin Hammond of Rock Island, TN; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Bess of Altamont, TN; sister, Debbie Bess of Chattanooga, TN; special niece, Sue "Susie Q" Sinks of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 in High's Chapel with Scotty Lawson officiating. Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN.
