E. W. BRIDGES

McMinnville resident and Knox County, TN native E. W. Bridges, age 66, was born September 20, 1942 and died May 7, 2009 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A self-employed woodworker and a member of Free Will Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Fletcher Esco and Edna Ruth Ezell Bridges. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Leroy Bridges; sisters, Helen Justice, Edith Hinkle, Juanita Dupes, Dorothy Smith and Darlene Bridges. He was married December 6, 1963 to Virginia Oglesby Bridges of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Tina Marie Bridges of Murfreesboro, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lisa Bridges of McMinnville; granddaughter, Christine Lynn Bridges of Murfreesboro, TN; and sister, Betty Sue Young of Knoxville, TN. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 in High's Chapel with William Eversole officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
