Leonard Edward CRAWLEY

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Leonard Edward Crawley, age 94, was born February 24, 1915 and died March 24, 2009 at River Park Hospital following a one-week illness. An employee of Smotherman-Womack, a United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Westwood Church of Christ, he was the son of the late George Thomas and Flora Bell Edwards Crawley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Mamie Crawley and nephew Wayne Crawley. He was married to Geneva Hayes Crawley of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Christine Cantrell of McMinnville and brother-in-law, Haskel Hayes of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 in High's Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
