Ira Levoy DUNCAN

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ira Levoy Duncan, age 75, was born June 19, 1934 and died November 24, 2009 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A furniture salesman with Fraley's, an antique dealer and a United States Army veteran he was a member of the Church of Christ. He received the Long Rifle Award from the Boy Scouts of America and served as minister of several Churches of Christ in Warren County. He was married June 12, 1957 to Opal Ruth Johnson Duncan who preceded him in death September 28, 2002. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis K. Duncan, Danny and Cynthia Duncan and David F. Duncan all of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Ethan and Erin Duncan of McMinnville; sister, Almeda Stearns of Rock Hill, SC; brother, George Dewey Duncan of San Diego, CA; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2009 in High's Chapel with Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in the Bethany Cemetery.
