Clara Mae Caldwell GRISSOM

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Clara Mae Caldwell Grissom, age 93, was born June 3, 1916 and died December 30, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Charleston, TN following a brief illness. A homemaker and member of Campaign Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Mary Redmon Caldwell. She was married to George Burton Grissom who preceded her in death February 4, 1994. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, George Burton "Buzzy" Grissom, Jr.; daughter, Catherine Grissom; three brothers, Wilson, Arvil, and Jimmy Caldwell and sister Christine Wadell. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Charles Wattenbarger of Charleston, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sandy Grissom of Belmont, MS and Burton and Charlotte Grissom of Campaign, TN; three granddaughters and their spouses, Lisa Grissom of Charleston, TN, Jamie and Steven Lowery of Quebeck, TN and Stephanie and Listeth Hale of the Midway Community; three great-grandchildren; Ransom Lowery, Emalee Hale and Dillon Hale; brother, Gene Caldwell of McMinnville and former daughter-in-law, Barbara Grissom of Rock Island, TN. A graveside service and interment was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Friendship Cemetery.
