Edna Thaxton HASTY

McMinnville resident and Guntersville, AL native Edna Thaxton Hasty, age 84, was born March 11, 1925 and died August 21, 2009 at River Park Hospital. A homemaker and a member of the Rockliff Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Alice Pearl Wampler Bunch, Sr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Thomas Clayton Thaxton, Sr.; brother, John T. Bunch, Jr.; sisters, Mable Grace Belew, Beatrice Mae Christian and Daisy Lee Thaxton. She is survived by, children and spouses, Tom and Marian Thaxton, Jr. of Viola, TN and Martha and Tony Madewell of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughter and spouse, Greta and Jeff Hoover of Viola, TN; step-granddaughter and spouse, Kristy and Drew Fleming of Lakeland, FL; great-grandchildren, Rhiannon and Jordan Hoover of Viola, TN; step-great-grandchild, Peyton Fleming of Lakeland, FL; former husband, Lawrence C. Hasty of McMinnville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl Lewis and Lucille Bunch and Jimmy Lee and Mary Bunch all of McMinnville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia Jo and Noel Grissom and Mary Ruth and W. T. Barrett all of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 in High's Chapel with Jeff Johnson and Keith Young officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
