Cendia McGee HILLIS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Cendia McGee Hillis, age 87, was born August 10, 1921 and died April 5, 2009 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of Stewart's Pharmacy Cafeteria and a member of the Mt. Leo Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late John and Dora Hillis McGee. She was married to Remus Hillis who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jim McGee. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Paul Bryant, Frances and Sidney Rutledge and Katherine and Mark Brown all of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Shannon Glenn of Tampa, FL, Chastity Kominos of Morrison, TN and Matthew Brown and Kelley Brown both of McMinnville. three great-grandchildren, Lashae Bryant, Mitchell Glenn and Athena Kominos and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 in High's Chapel with Eben Gilbert officiating. Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
