Nadine HILLIS

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Nadine Hillis, age 65, was born July 26, 1944 and died October 6, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness. A retired teacher with Warren County School System Extended Daycare and member of Philadelphia The Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Ollie May Killian Rogers. She was married October 27, 1962 to Hershel Hillis of McMinnville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children and their spouses, Greg and Charlotte Hillis and Kim and John Chisam both of McMinnville; two grandsons, Dustin Lake Chisam of McMinnville and David Marcus Hillis of Calhoun, GA; special granddaughter, Nika Bowdoin Bolhuis of Calhoun, GA; sister, Jeannetta Hollis of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews; special great-niece, Hillari Hale of Rock Island, TN; aunt, Estelle Roberts of the Irving College Community and several cousins. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 in High's Chapel with Glyn Killian, Marty Hensley and Sam Hart officiating. Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery.
