Wilda Louise HILLIS

Beersheba Springs, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Wilda Louise Hillis, age 93, was born November 7, 1915 and died October 30, 2009 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired school teacher with the Grundy County School System and member of Philadelphia The Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Lela Mae Gross McGee. She was married to Lyndon Wilson Hillis who preceded her in death February 23, 1995. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Frances Hillis and Gerald Hillis both of McMinnville; five grandsons, Donald Hillis and Chad Hillis both of McMinnville, Michael Hillis of Tullahoma, TN and Blake Crawford and Justin Crawford both of Campaign, TN; granddaughter, Michelle Morris of Mt. Juliet, TN; eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009 in High's Chapel with Glyn Killian and Wendell Judkins officiating. Burial followed in the Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County, TN.
