Joyce HOLT

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Joyce Holt was born November 16, 1926 and died April 2, 2009 at Alive Hospice @ St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a nine-day illness. A homemaker and member of Smartt First Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Hallie Summers Starkey. She was married to William D. "W.D." Holt who preceded her in death September 26, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Marvin Starkey and son-in-law, Jerry Rigsby. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda Rigsby and Judy and Roy Cannon both of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Janice Holt of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and four step-grandsons; sister, Bessie Jean Chisam of McMinnville and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Hazel Starkey of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 in High's Chapel with Jim Ramsey officiating. Burial followed in the New Union Cemetery in DeKalb County, TN.
