J.C. JUDKINS

November 9, 1921 — September 23, 2009

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native J.C. Judkins, age 87, was born November 9, 1921 and died September 23, 2009 at River Park Hospital following a two-week illness. A retired employee of Carrier, a United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Victory Free Will Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Charles Eli and Hattie Byrd Green Judkins. He was married to Grace Ilene Morgan Judkins who preceded him in death October 24, 1988. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Jane Davidson and Rachel Hattie Judkins; great-grandsons, Denver William Murphy and William David Murphy; brothers, Gentry and Jim Judkins and sisters, Chloe Cantrell and Delphine Padgett. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Linson Farless of the Centertown Community; two sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy Jon and Laura Judkins of Indianapolis, IN and Stephen Joseph Judkins of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Ruth Pruett of Kewanee, IN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 in High's Chapel with Kenneth W. Kirby and Roland Sharp officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory will full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
