Edith Mae MADEWELL

Gallatin, TN resident and Alabama native Edith Mae Clemons Madewell, age 71, was born September 28, 1937 and died July 22, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness. A legal secretary with the IRS and member of the Gallatin First Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of Betty Troglin Clemons of Chattanooga, TN and the late Isaac Clemons. She was married October 11, 1958 to Milton Locke Madewell of Gallatin, TN. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by four children, Sherry Lynn Ricketts of Hermitage, TN, Sheila Ann Stopp of Vernon, CT and Milton Gilbert Madewell and Sandra Gail Madewell both of Gallatin, TN; six grandchildren, four brothers, Donald Clemons of Detroit, MI and Jimmy, Denny and Bobby Clemons all of Chattanooga, TN and three sisters, Carolyn Smith of North Carolina and Hassie Joe Waters and Rhonda Ann Scroggins both of Chattanooga, TN. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009 in High's Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery.
