Claudie Taylor MYERS

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Claudie Taylor Myers, age 86, was born March 29, 1922 and died March 12, 2009 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired auto body repairman, a United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Mt. Della Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Ida Pearl Byrd Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Victor, Vestor and Alvin Myers; sister, Bertha Walling and son-in-law, Larry Cope. He was married to Opal Frances Walling Myers of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Dwight and Dollie Myers of Pikeville, TN and Marvin Taylor Myers and Maureen Borghi of Cookeville, TN; two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Lucille and Jerry Back of Winter Haven, FL and Vanessa Sue Cope and Billy Joe Dodson, Jr. of Spencer, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granchildren and brother and sister-in-law, Grover and Helen Myers of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Mt. Della Church of Christ in Van Buren County, TN with Gene Brock officiating. Burial followed in the Walling Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
