James Austin PACK

November 1, 1927 — March 3, 2009

James Austin Pack, a longtime resident of the Bethany Community and descendent of early pioneer settlers of Warren and Dekalb counties, was born November 1, 1927 and died March 3, 2009 at age 81. A nurseryman and farmer, he was the son of the late Otis and Lena Belle Vickers Pack. He was married to Sue Campbell Pack who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rena Jill Pack Roberson; brothers, Sammie, Jack Edward and Dennis Pack; one infant brother and sister, Etheline Wilson. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Bettye Pack and Jamison and Tonia Pack both of McMinnville and Jayben and Vickie Pack of Viola, TN; two daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and David Blisk of Virginia and Jamie Pack of McMinnville; brother, Brince Pack of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and "Tee" Deboe of McMinnville; sisters-in-law, Kathy Pack of Florida, Dorris Campbell Stallcup of Texas and Farris Campbell Goroni of Michigan; brothers-in-law, Wren Campbell of Birchwood, TN and Jim Harmon of Knoxville, TN; two aunts, Bessie McDonald and Virgie Roy Sanderson of Alabama; ten grandchildren, Alex Pack, Annie Pack, Garrett Pack, Samuel Pack and Leah Pack all of McMinnville, Rena (Jason) Richardson of Manchester, TN, Amanda Wheeler and Lacy Pack of Nashville, TN, Jason Flowers of Florida and Laura Marie Blisk of Virginia; two step-grandchildren, Torie (Shane) Ray of Cookeville, TN and Zachary West of Viola, TN; two great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; special cousins, John and Doris Keys of Clarksville, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 in High's Chapel with Dr. Eben Gilbert officiating. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
