T.J. ROGERS

Mount Zion Community resident and Warren County native T.J. Rogers, age 74, was born March 31, 1935 and died August 30, 2009 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A retired employee of Oster Corporation, he attended the Church of Christ and was the son of the late Hervie & Lassie Smartt Rogers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Franklin M. Rogers and sister, Alene Hobbs. He was married October 22, 1955 to Betty Lynn Rogers of the Mt. Zion Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lynn Dale Rogers Jones of McMinnville; granddaughter and her husband, Ashley Lynn and Nick Silvus of Morrison, TN; grandson, Justin Tyler Jones of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, David Earl and Mary Rogers of McMinnville; sister, Helen Lynn of Viola, TN and mother-in-law, Rosie Irene Lynn of the Mt. Zion Community. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in High's Chapel with Kevin Deason officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
