Judy Fay SIMMONS

Smithville, TN resident and Rutherford County, TN native Judy Fay Simmons, age 63, was born March 19, 1946 and died June 25, 2009 at DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Smithville Manufacturing and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late William and Vivian George Thomason. She was married to Claude M. Simmons who preceded her in death October 8, 2005. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Billy Thomason and two sisters, Wanda Jenkins and Patsy Thomason. She is survived by five children, Sonya Rene Cantrell, Tarron Lynn Carter, Penny Murphy and Pamela Ann Curtis all of Smithville, TN and Vickie Kay Cobble of McMinnville; three step-children, Ronnie Lynn Simmons of Nashville, TN, Teresa Walls of McMinnville and Shounda Williams of Sparta, TN; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Jones, Virginia Jones, Betty Certain and Janice Pollard of Smithville, TN; brother, Jonah Thomason of Woodbury, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 in High's Chapel with Trent Caldwell officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
