McMinnville resident and Warren County, TN native Johnnie Alma Gribble Slatton, age 92, was born November 27, 1917 and died December 7, 2009 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following a short illness. A retired teacher with the Warren County School System, an office manager for Petway Revis Department Store and a member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Perry Andrew and Onia Belle Glenn Gribble. She was married to Lue Austin Slatton who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Clayton N. Gribble; sister and husband, Jean and Nellie Gribble LePere; brother-in-law, C. Wymer Wiser; sister-in-law, Pauline Golden Gribble and nieces Marlan Sue Gribble and Trudy Z. Gribble. She is survived by one brother, Newton P. Gribble of McMinnville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Perry Jean and Wayne Womack of McMinnville and Laura Wiser of Murfreesboro, TN; one sister-in-law, June Dove Gribble of McMinnville; nieces and nephews, Bill and Jeanie LePere Owen, Perry and Celia LePere, Newton Price and Penny Gribble, Sid and Sheila Gribble, Jack and Gail Gribble Smoot, Patsy Gribble Bolding, George and Linda Wiser Sadler, Cy and Rhonda Wiser, Gary and Gail Wiser, Ralph and Chris Womack and Vernon and Mia-Lan Womack Powers; many grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in High's Chapel with Kirk Brothers officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
