Barbara Fern Barnes SMITH

McMinnville resident and Oklahoma City, OK native Barbara Fern Barnes Smith, age 80, was born December 27, 1928 and died February 21, 2009 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Josie Ola Jones Barnes. She was married to Austin Smith who preceded her in death in 1986. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Smith and two brothers, Clinton and Sherman Barnes. She is survived by one sister, Ilda Jones Fults of McMinnville; two sisters-in-law, Alma Barnes and Lois Holland both of McMinnville and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2009 in High's Chapel with Wendell Judkins officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's.
