Dorothy W. SOUTHARD

Franklin, TN resident and DeKalb County, TN native Dorothy W. Southard, age 91, was born August 11, 1917 and died April 30, 2009 at Grace Healthcare in Franklin, TN, following an extended illness. A retired employee from Genesco and a member of the Tulip Street Methodist Church in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Charles Miller and Maude Oakley Williams. She was married to Ray R. Southard, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1987. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ray R. Southard, Jr. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and John Gibson of Franklin, TN; two granddaughters and spouse, Christy Gibson, Cheryl and Randy Jones all of Smyrna, TN; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 in High's Chapel with Tom Herring officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery.
