Howard B. WALKER

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Howard B. Walker, age 82, was born August 2, 1927 and died October 27, 2009 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. Mr. Walker was a farmer and nurseryman and was in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was an Agriculture Teacher, Director of Production Credit Association, Director of Warren Farmers Co-Op, Director of Tennessee Farmers Co-Op for thirteen years and a member of the McMinnville Gideon Bible Camp for many years. He was a member of the Shellsford Baptist where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Shellsford Cemetery trust fund and a board member of the Farm Bureau. He was the son of the late Elijah F. and Lemma Barnes Walker. He was married August 23, 1948 to Eugenia Bottoms Walker of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Paul and Sherry Walker, Randall and Sharon Walker and Sandra and Don Stotts all of McMinnville; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Chris Walker of Nashville, TN, Chanda and Shane Malone, Nick Walker, Kelly Walker and April Stotts all of McMinnville, Phillip Walker of Cincinnati, OH and Misty and Jason Smith of Yorktown, VA; five great-grandchildren, Amya Smith, Breydon Smith, Emily Malone, Gage Walker and Brody Walker and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcelle and Claude Stubblefield of McMinnville and Sarah Becton and Will Ornelas of Melbourne, FL. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 in High's Chapel with David Daugherty, Donald Owens and Jimmy Bond officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
