J.C. WOODEN

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Rutherford County, TN native J.C. Wooden, age 76, was born March 7, 1933 and died September 18, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired letter carrier with the United States Postal Service, United States Army veteran, Untied States Air Force veteran and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Claude and Clarice Reynolds Wooden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Daisy Wooden and brother, Lloyd Wooden. He was married December 16, 1961 to Lorene Simmons Wooden of Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Kim Wooden of Murfreesboro, TN; two grandchildren, Mason and Madelyne both of Murfreesboro, TN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Audrey Wooden of Holiday, FL, Ralph and Nellie Wooden of Roseville, MI and Joe and Bettye Wooden of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 in High's Chapel with Paul Norwood and Odell Kirby officiating. Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
