Gordon H. Corky WOODS

McMinnville resident and Franklin County, TN native Gordon H. "Corky" Woods, age 76, was born October 31, 1932 and died July 18, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. A retired livestock dealer, United States Air Force veteran of Korea and member of the Presbyterian Church, he was the son of the late James M. and Mattie G. Redmon Woods. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Alton W. Woods. He is survived by three sisters, Ella Lawrence of Port St. Lucie, FL, Betty Jean Carcuro of New York and Charlotte Faye Sullivan of North Carolina; two brothers, James M. Woods and Felix G. Woods both of Nashville, TN; special friend, Elsie Safley of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and inurnment was held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Gardens of Memory with James Bond officiating. Full military honors were administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
