Clarence Edward Eddie BATES

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Clarence Edward "Eddie" Bates, age 77, was born June 29, 1933 and died July 26, 2010 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A logger and nurseryman, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Edna Pearl Scott Bates. He was married August 17, 1951 to Della Agnes Hale Bates who preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tony Moore and Juan and Randall Milstead both of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Ryan Moore, Benji Taylor, Lynde Bond and Denae Green; eight great-grandchildren, Allison Bond, Fletcher Moore, Dylan Bond, Natalie Green, Tru Moore, Ella Bond, Dillard Taylor and Presley Green; three sisters, Barbara Gillentine and Christine Wimley both of McMinnville and Lillian Fults of Altamont, TN; brother, Clifford Bates of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Diane Campbell of McMinnville. A graveside service and interment was held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Smyrna Cemetery with Jackie Matheny officiating.
