Billy Gerald BESS

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Billy Gerald Bess, age 66, was born April 24, 1943 and died January 28, 2010 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness. A pipefitter with Grinnell, he attended Big Creek Baptist Church and was the son of Heber Bess of Murfreesboro, TN and the late Ester Bouldin Bess. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Margie LaShelle Bess; sister, Theresa Bouldin and brother, James Earl Bess. He was married April 25, 1999 to Brenda Carr Bess of Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Stephanie Bess of Morrison, TN; daughter, LeAnne Perry of McMinnville; two grandchildren, LaNae Bess and Hanna Bess both of Morrison, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jackie Bess of Fair Mount, GA; several nieces and nephews; two step-sons and step-daughter-in-law, Bobby and Tracy Higgins and Barry Higgins and three step-grandchildren, Cody, Hunter and Tony. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 in High's Chapel with J.C. Ashford and Steve Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the Bess, King and Whitman Cemetery in Grundy County, TN.
