Alfred O. BLAKELEY

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Alfred O. Blakely, age 86, was born May 7, 1923 and died April 17, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A retired employee of the Tennessee Department of Conservation Forestry Division and United States Army veteran of WWII, he was the son of the late John Alfred "Jack" and Mamie Etta Biles Blakeley. He was married to Jo Blakeley of the Mt. Zion Community. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Randal Blakeley and wife Barbara of Mason, OH and Michele Gibbs of Murfreesboro, TN and four grandchildren, Ryan Blakeley, Logan Blakeley, Zach Gibbs and Lauren Gibbs. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in High's Chapel with Billy Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
