SR., J.B. BYARS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.B. Byars, Sr., age 80, was born July 29, 1929 and died February 26, 2010 at the V.A. Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A mechanic and United States Navy veteran of Korea, he attended Pearls of Christ Church and was the son of the late Asac and Ella Mae Hutchins Byars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Dorcus Hall; grandson, Justin B. Evans; granddaughter, Dena and sister, Elizabeth Johnson. He was married July 29, 1983 to Helen L. Evans Byars of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jimmy Byars of Mancaif, CA; two step-daughters, Genay Keener and Treina Watson and husband Kenneth both of McMinnville; seven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; niece, Sheila Caldwell of McMinnville and special friends, Jeff Hill and Charlie Hall. At Mr. Byars' request, all services were private.
