Gene CALDWELL

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gene Caldwell, age 81, was born October 8, 1928 and died August 16, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A retired construction worker and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Noah and Mary Redmon Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Willie Ruth Elliott Caldwell and son, Ernie Caldwell. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Murphy Caldwell of McMinnville; nine children and their spouses, Ronnie and Joyce Caldwell, Terry Caldwell, Donnie and Claudia Caldwell, David Caldwell, Joe and Shelia Caldwell, Jay Caldwell, Jeff Caldwell and Carolyn and Steve Bernhardt all of McMinnville and Joan and Frank Booth of Oxford, MI; daughter-in-law, Marie Caldwell of Missouri; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Laurie and Billy DeLong, Carly and Daniel Bruce, Jesse Caldwell and Sabrina Caldwell all of McMinnville, Stephanie and Phillip Schepis of Gilbert, AZ, Julie and Ryan Jagoda of Casco, MI and Joseph Booth of Baghdad, Iraq; step-grandchild, Hunter Bernhardt of McMinnville; seven great-grandchildren, Tim DeLong, Ashley Rarick, Connor Bruce, Cora Bruce and Kenzie Bruce all of McMinnville, Anna Jagoda of Casco, MI and Ethan Schepis of Gilbert, AZ; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. A graveside service and interment was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Friendship Cemetery with Steve Breedlove and George Roberts officiating.
