Bruce Allen CARR

Smithville resident and Detroit, MI native Bruce Allen Carr, age 54, was born April 27, 1956 and died December 25, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. An RN at River Park Hospital and member of the Central Church of Christ, he was the son of Willie Mae Carr of Altamont, TN and the late James Denton Carr. He was married to Donna Kay Stewart Carr of Smithville, TN. Bruce was a student of life. He was always wanting to learn and experience new things, from learning to fly to traveling abroad and simply helping people locally, never letting them know who their benefactor was. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Sarah Carr of Goodlettsville, TN, Lee Stewart Carr of McMinnville and Patrick and Julie Carr of Chattanooga, TN; brother and sister-in-law, James Denton and Chris Carr of Indianapolis, IN; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nestor and Jo Stewart of McMinnville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Stewart of McMinnville, Ella and David Wilson of Brentwood, TN, Sherri and Barry Stowe of Hong Kong, China and Gina and Mike Craig of Rockford, MI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Peg Stewart of McMinnville; aunts and uncles, Frances Hobbs of McMinnville, Frank Lee Hobbs of Altamont, TN and Glenn and Fay Hobbs of Rock Island, TN; several nieces and nephews and great-nephew. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Central Church of Christ with Kirk Brothers officiating. Burial followed in the Webb Cemetery @ Bluff Springs.
