McMinnville resident and Warren County native Ralph Nolan Collier, Sr., age 90, was born January 4, 1920 and died January 22, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired mail carrier and member of East End Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Cass and Florence Smith Collier. He was a United States Navy veteran of WWII where he survived the attack of Pearl Harbor. He was married to Mary Frances Bell who preceded him in death February 17, 2005. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Amanda Rogers and brother, Milton Collier. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Teresa Collier of Seymour, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Steve Moore of Hendersonville, TN and Darlene and Tommy Hutchins of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Chris Hutchins, Rebel Moore and Tia Collier and one great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Moore. A graveside service and interment was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Mt. View Cemetery with Kevin Key officiating. Full military honors were administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
