McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Lorena Hitchcock Cox, age 87, was born November 8, 1922 and died March 11, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired employee of Formfit Rogers and member of the Locust Street Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lula Johnson Hitchcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bobby Hitchcock Bryant; half-sisters, Dema Hitchcock, Louise Hitchcock Lytle, Cleo Hitchcock Delone, Alma Hitchcock Chambers and Catherine Dillon Baldwin and half-brothers, Haskall, Aulton, Caufman, Raymond, Morris, Horris and Marlen Hitchcock and Johnson and Willis Dillon. She is survived by one daughter, Linda C. Evans of Lexington, KY; son and daughter-in-law, Neal and "B" Cox of McMinnville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kristie and John Eads of Lexington, KY and Kyle and Brandy Cox of McMinnville; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Eads and Byron, Katelyn and Ean Cox; two half-sisters, May Vance and Hassie Hitchcock both of McMinnville and half-brother, Gordon Hitchcock of Athens, GA. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 in High's Chapel with Roland Sharp officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
