Lodemia McCoy CUMMINGS

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Lodemia McCoy Cummings, age 94, was born July 9, 1915 and died February 18, 2010 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired restaurant operator and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Ella Lawson McCoy. She was married to Arthur Miller Cummings who preceded her in death October 30, 2001. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gerstil Leon Cummings; daughter, Stella Nadene Brown; four sisters, Annie Madewell, Delia Hitchcock Curtis, Grace Hale and Violet Slatton; three brothers, John H., Joe B. and Mal McCoy and three grandchildren, Brenda and Belinda Howell and Lawton Lewis Brown, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Reba Hale of Doyle, TN; four grandchildren, Danny Cummings, Annette McKeehan, Teresa Snook and Angel Fults all of McMinnville; eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2010 in High's Chapel with Ray Skyles officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
