Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native James Bryan Curtis, age 39, was born May 8, 1971 and died December 31, 2010 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A former employee of Yorozu and member of the North Hills Church of God of Prophecy, he was the son of Jim and Sharon Hawkins Curtis of Cookeville, TN. He was married August 27, 2005 to Tonya Freeborn Curtis of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by three children, Hunter Kaylee and James Brayden Curtis of Rock Island, TN and Andrew Coty Barr of Manchester, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Kelly Curtis of Sparta, TN; maternal grandmother, Lula Hawkins of McMinnville; paternal grandmother, Grovene Curtis of Smithville, TN; nephews, Devin Jerido and Daylan Curtis both of Sparta, TN and several other nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Kay Freeborn of McMinnville and father-in-law and step-mother-in-law, Walter and Debbie Freeborn of Tullahoma, TN. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 in High's Chapel with Michael Harris officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
