McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Will A. Davis, age 91, was born July 26, 1919 and died November 20, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Davis was retired from active duty with the Georgia Army National Guard, a United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Locust Street Church of God. He was the son of the late Amon Livingston and Emily Eilzabeth Felton Davis. He was a charter member of VFW Post 5064 which was formed in 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters. He was married November 29, 1947 to Opal King Davis of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bearl Kirby, Sr. of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Thomas and Donna Davis of Midway, GA; two grandchildren, Bearl Kirby, Jr. and wife Regina and Stephanie Alley and fiancé Jimmy Bolin both of McMinnville; step-grandson, Scott Brown of Atlanta, GA and great-grandson, Dustin Thomas Kirby of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2010 in High's Chapel with Roland Sharp officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Masonic rites will be administered at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in High's parlor.
