Margie Edna DELONG

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Margie Edna DeLong, age 84, was born October 27, 1925 and died July 24, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Fred Clay and Gertie Bishop Moore. She was married to Richard Leon DeLong who preceded her in death in 1993. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Sue Lawson, Bobby DeLong and Betty Simmons. She is survived by two sons, Charles DeLong of Rock Island, TN and Lee DeLong of Irving, TX; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Palmer of Rock Island, TN, Gracie Lawson of the Centertown Community and Barbara Childress of Arlington, TX; brother, Sammy Moore of Maryville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in High's Chapel with Willard Ralph, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
