Jeannette Margaret Nichols GAEKLE

McMinnville resident and LaPorte, IN native Jeannette Margaret Nichols Gaekle, age 77, was born August 27, 1932 and died January 19, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness. A retired employee of Oster Corporation and member of the Catholic Church, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Margaret Oberem Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, R.C. Merriman. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Merriman and Mardi Nichols both of McMinnville; son, Michael Gaekle of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Dawn Mills Brickey of Brighton, CO, Aimee Gaekle of East Pointe, MI, Charlie Merriman and Eric Cunningham both of McMinnville and Jaimz Gaekle, USMC of Camp LeJeune, NC; nine great-grandchildren, Cheyanne Lalament and Christian Lalament both of Nashville, TN, Emiley Parton, Courtland Parton, Haven Brickey and Treyton Brickey all of Brighton, CO and Jolee Cunningham, Amalek Merriman and Addison Farr all of McMinnville; two step-grandchildren, Joe and Charles Vigil of Michigan; two brothers and sister-in-law, Willard H. and Margie Nichols of Union Mills, IN and Richard Nichols of London, England and two sisters, Joan Leinbach of LaPorte, IN and Betty Bunce of Alpharetta, GA. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church with Father David Cooney officiating. Burial will followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
