Nina Upton Grandey GOLDEN

McMinnville resident and Clay County, TN native Nina Upton Grandey Golden, age 82, was born December 16, 1927 and died April 18, 2010 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN following a sudden illness. A homemaker and member of the Arlington Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Joe Bob and Roxie Upton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Grandey, Jr.; brothers, Faye, Turner, Carson, Willie and Leslie Upton and sister, Bonnie Buford. She is survived by her husband, Austin Golden of McMinnville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Carol Grandey of Rock Island, TN, Mike and Deborah Grandey of Apopka, FL and Joey and Susan Grandey of McMinnville; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Lolita and Karl Jones of Winchester, TN; six grandchildren, Beckee Bell of Rock Island, TN, Shane Grandey of Honolulu, HI, Katherine Grandey of New York, Jessica Buckley of Orlando, FL, Lauren Grandey of Murfreesboro, TN and Leah Grandey of McMinnville; two step-grandchildren, Brooke and Austin Jones of Winchester, TN and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 in High's Chapel with Wayne Cantrell officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery.
