John Caldwell GRISSOM

Belmont, MS resident (formerly of Rock Island, TN and Brentwood, TN) and Warren County native John Caldwell Grissom, age 65, was born November 12, 1944 and died August 12, 2010 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS following a sudden illness. Mr. Grissom was the retired director of the Brentwood Water and Sewer Department and the son of the late George Burton and Clara Mae Caldwell Grissom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Grissom and brother, George "Buzzy" Grissom, Jr. He was married to Sandy Cagle Grissom of Belmont, MS. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa Grissom of Charleston, TN; step-daughter, Cindy Coggins of Belmont, MS; step-granddaughters, Kendra Scruggs and Makalee Holland; step-great-grandson, Nathan Scruggs; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Charles Wattenbarger of Charleston, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Burton and Charlotte Grissom of Rock Island, TN; nieces and their spouses, Stephanie and Listeth Hale of Rock Island, TN and Jammie and Steven Lowery of Quebeck, TN; great-nieces and great-nephews, Emalee and Dillon Hale of Rock Island, TN and Ransom Lowery of Quebeck, TN and former spouse, Barbara Grissom of Rock Island, TN. A graveside service and interment was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at Friendship Cemetery.
