Shirley Anita GRISSOM

Bone Cave, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Shirley Anita Grissom, age 72, was born July 4, 1937 and died March 25, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a brief illness. A retired employee of McMinnville Garment Company and member of Order of the Eastern Star, she attended Harmony Church of Christ and was the daughter of the late Everett and Lola Mae Yates Cunningham. She was married March 17, 1956 to Landy Power Grissom who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lela Marie Hale. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Lanita and Tom Walling and Donna Grissom both of Bone Cave, TN; four grandchildren and their spouses, Landy and Lonna Matney and Amy and Ronnie Simmons both of McMinnville, Chris Cowan of Bone Cave, TN and Marty and Kellie Cowan of Crestview, FL; four step-grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Walling, Mandy and Shane Snider and Brent and Khristina Walling all of McMinnville and Josh and Nikki Walling of Bone Cave, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Christa, Gracie, Ethan and Journey Cowan, Dakota and Macie Simmons and Mikkael and Liam Matney; eight step-great-grandchildren, Peyton and Katie Blackwell, Tristen and Leila Gunter, Brayden Snider and Ethan, Aiden and Abby Walling and niece, Sharon Rodgers of Atlanta, GA. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
