Rayborn Earl GROVES

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Rayborn Earl Groves, age 81, was born November 26, 1928 and died January 11, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a two-week illness. A retired employee of Powermatic, United States Army veteran of Korea and member of the Jericho Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Gertie Hillis Groves. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Dennis Groves and brother Clayton Groves. He was married March 30, 1957 to Clata Pearl Turner Groves of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Tommy Kell of Rock Island, TN; four granddaughters, Traci Kell and Taylor Kell both of Rock Island, TN and Chelsey and Kassey Groves both of Doyle, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in High's Chapel with Titus Ward and Gene Brock officiating. Burial followed in the Brickhouse Cemetery.
