J.T. HALE

McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.T. Hale, age 87, was born April 4, 1923 and died December 17, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a ten-day illness. A farmer and member of the Gath Baptist Church, he was the son of the late W.G. and Axie Beatrice Cooley Hale. He was also employed at One Hour Martinizing, Aquatech and Hale and Hines Nursery. Mr. Hale was on the first board of directors at Security Federal Savings and Loan and was a member of the Noon Rotary Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William Albert Hale and sister, Mary Lee Cantrell. He was married March 21, 1942 to Betty G. Hale of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah Lynne and Paul E. Ramsey, Sr. of Cookeville, TN and Phyllis and Gary Harrell and Johnnie T. and Terry Hines both of McMinnville. ten grandchildren, Jenny Lynn Carter, Susannah Akers and Paul Ramsey, Jr. all of Cookeville, TN and Sarah Elizabeth Netherton, James Hines, John Hines, Rachel Hines, Peter Hines, Randall Harrell and Andy Harrell all of McMinnville; fifteen great-grandchildren and sister, Mildred L. Hitchcock of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Gath Baptist Church with Paul Edward Ramsey, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Gath Cemetery.
