Henry L. HERNDON

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Henry L. Herndon, age 95, was born August 22, 1914 and died July 10, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired employee of Rockwell Company in Chattanooga, TN and member of the Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Henry Brewer and Bessie Elizabeth Medley Herndon. Mr. Herndon was a member of Warren Masonic Lodge #125 F&AM, Eastern Star Chapter 725 and Senior Friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Jo Ann Herndon and two brothers, Paul and Joe Herndon. He was married October 4, 1940 to Mildred Askew Herndon of McMinnville. In addition to his wife of sixty-nine years, he is survived by special nephew, Bill Askew of McMinnville and several other nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in High's Chapel with Joe Gray officiating. Burial followed in the Centertown Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites administered by Warren Lodge #125.
