Christy Jean HICKERSON

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Christy Jean Hickerson, age 39, was born January 13, 1971 and died February 27, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. A special education teacher at Morrison Elementary School and member of the Bonner Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Doug and Emmagene Hudson Durham of McMinnville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jack and Berchie Hudson; paternal grandfather, Jim Durham; cousin, Cory Smith and uncle, Joe Hudson. She was married August 5, 2005 to Dwight Hickerson of McMinnville. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by one daughter, Kiersten of McMinnville; paternal grandmother, Tiny Durham of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Shelva Hickerson of Cornersville, TN; step-son, Jordan Hickerson of Lewisburg, TN; aunts and uncles, Sue and Mike Killian of Chattanooga, TN, Frances and Wilmus Bouldin of Morrison, TN, Elaine and Ronnie Hoover, Twana and Terry Smith and Jim and Theresa Durham all of McMinnville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kyle and Merry Hickerson of Murfreesboro, TN, Susan and Mike Whitehead of Lewisburg, TN and Jolie and Roger Richardson of Shelbyville, TN; several cousins, special friends and students. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 in High's Chapel with Tim Long officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.
