Lucy Beatrice HILLIS

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Lucy Beatrice Hillis, age 92, was born December 20, 1917 and died January 17, 2010 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of Hebron Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Beecher and Ollie Coppinger Wanamaker. She was married to Arlin C. Hillis who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifton Wanamaker, Connard Wanamaker and Glenn Wanamaker and sister, Hazel Wanamaker Argo. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Conny Joe and Linda Hillis and Woody and Sharon Hillis both of McMinnville and Jerry and Lorrie Hillis of Birmingham, AL; two sisters, Nelma Sullivan of Beersheba Springs, TN and Pauline Campbell of McMinnville; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and special friend, Edgar H. Barker of California. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2010 in High's Chapel with Chris Perry officiating. Burial followed in the Hebron Cemetery.
