Hassie HITCHCOCK

McMinnville resident and Hamilton County, TN native Hassie Hitchcock, age 95, was born March 18, 1915 and died October 31, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and member of the Church of God, she was the daughter of the late John Claude and Lula Esta Johnson Dillon. She was married to Tillman Haskel Hitchcock who preceded her in death October 3, 1978. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Tillmon Powell Hitchcock; two brothers, Johnson and Willis Dillon; sister, Katherine Baldwin and two half-sisters, Lorena Cox and Bobbie Bryant. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Sam and Nancy Hitchcock and Maxine Hitchcock both of Rock Island, TN, Shelby Bracy of Joelton, TN and Barbara and Frank Foster of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Vance of McMinnville; step-brother, Gordon Hitchcock of Albany, GA and sister-in-law, Edna Dillon of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in High's Chapel with Roland Sharp officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
